We went over The Road Not Taken and had a lively debate over whether the paths and the choices we make on which path to take in our lives make a difference (according to Robert Frost) - or if he thinks most things end up the same, and we convince ourselves much later (see "age and ages hence") that it was for the best. What do you think still? Do your small little or big choices make a profound difference for the better or worse, or do most things settle out to pretty much the same. I, for one, believe that every choice has an impact on our lives and will shape who we are, and who we want to be.

We will chat and go over the syllabus in depth so you all know my expectations, rules, and policies on such things as academic honesty, attendance and homework. (Essentially do you work in class and you will have little/no homework. Whatever you don't do, becomes homework.)
My main focus: work hard, focus, be respectful of everyone in the class as we are a team and community and a family, and you will do great! Reminder: No cellphones in class whatsoever. Please have them in your backpack at the start of class and turned off. If I see it, I take it. Can't wait to have an exciting year with you full of writing, reading, and much growth! Mr. Wolf Welcome! My name is Mr. Wolf and this is my website and if you're reading this well... you're likely in my class or parent or guardian of an 8th grader at Challenger Middle School and I'm excited a new year! The most relevant pages for you will be this one (the blog) where I'll post updates, exciting events or news about the school or our class as it pertains to your learning, and occasional info on assignments. For the most up-to-date information PLEASE check the "HANDOUTS" tab. Also today we went over the syllabus. Thanks and welcome once again! Sincerely, Mr. Wolf |
